Shushi Meat… It’s just Cat Scraps!
Well, kids, if you know anything about me, you know I love Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!
Often times gross and all the time weird, Tim and Eric is shear brilliance. From Cinco commercials for the Innernette, Napple, D Pants, and Cigarette Juice, the public access style show is bizarre enough to make the first time viewer uncomfortable enough to either, throw up a mouthful of vomit, get up and leave the room, pee a little or cackle uncontrollably.
If Tim and Eric had their way, you would probably do all of those things at once. Peppered with cameos a plenty (like Jeff Goldblum, Rainn Wilson, Zach Galifianakis
and David Cross, among countless others) and songs and catch phrases like “Petite Feet,” “I’m Never Gonna Wipe My Butt,” “Bub-Bubs,” “Shrimp, and white wine,” “You’ve been bonged,” “For your health” and the ever creepy “Where’s my chippy?”
the show has successfully cemented itself in the pop culture zeitgeist. In a short 3 year run, Tim and Eric have become nerd elite and introduced us to a host of characters recognized by anyone who’s ever turned on adult swim. James Quall, Raz,
David Liebe Hart, Spagett, Richard Dunn
and of course, the ever frizzy hair-ed, ever mumbling, ever misinformed Dr. Steve Brule (played by John C. Reiley).
Last summer when Tim and Eric came to New York and hosted a night of music at Santos, complete with clips of the then yet premiered season cinco, they also joked about an all Brule series.
The deafening cheer that arose was pretty impressive. Especially since Paloma (a fellow TEASGJ fan) and I realized every nerd in the tri-state area was in the room with us. But no one really seemed to think they were serious. Oh man were we wrong. I only found out how wrong we were a month or so ago when walking home up Allen. I saw this giant mural with Steve Brule’s face on it and realized he was in fact getting his own show.
Well, shit. It debuted last Sunday on adult swim and it was glorious. I tweeted many an amazing quote from the episode, which was all about food. It really has set the bar high and I can’t wait to see what else, slurring Steve has in store for us. Here’s the entire first episode, enjoy. And thank you Tim and Eric, and Dr. Brule.
Truly, great job. Don’t forget to tune in to adult swim this Sunday night at 12:30 for Steve’s hard hitting, journalistic look at relationships.
.
And remember, I’m a doctor too, you dengus!
