Tonight at Sway it’s Coco Cottontail’s big 21st birthday bash at Electric Punnany. Melo X, Jasmine Solano and Roxy herself will be DJing. Come wish Coco a happy 21st and dance the night away! On Tuesday the 29th Roxy DJs with Playboy Bunny Tamara Sky at the South Street Seaport. Harrah’s Atlantic City is throwing a bananas promotional event. Their bikini street team will be giving away 6,000 free room keys to passersby with the opportunity to upgrade the room to a suite just by putting on a bathing suit and modeling in a replica of one of the Pool at Harrah’s cabanas. If Harrah’s had it their way, the summer would never end!!! Then, look out for October because Roxy will be tearing it up all over the place. Starting on Friday the 2nd, Ms. Cottontail will be back with Jasmine Solano and Jeremy Asgari at the Tribeca Grand Hotel for another incredible edition of Grand Dynamite. Then… not only will Roxy be performing LIVE with Shwayze at the Highline Ballroom on Sunday October 4th but she will also be heading down to the dirty dirty on the 10th to spin at Hotel Nightclub in Louisville, Kentucky. Plus, CMJ is fast approaching and you know the Cottontails never disappoint during the grand week of CMJ. So watch out for a cottontail near you and see you at the cluuuub!!

Today is just a big ol’ day of gender role examination and breaking. That sounds so “gender studies” major aka school aka heavy and boooo-ring.

Au contraire, mes petits lapins. All I mean to say is here is the odd list of things I’m thinking about today/doing/watching. Notice the crazy ass gender roles and contradictions that are attached to all of them. And all purely coincidental. They all popped up just as I started writing this. (PS- When you google image search “gender roles” a bunch of pictures of Fall Out Boy come up. I shit you not.)

First of all, I wanted to write a blog about Trantasia the 2006 documentary about the very first World’s Most Beautiful Transsexual pageant in Las Vegas. This is a movie my sister tried to put me on to last week. Little did she know, my Tuck Everlasting means I’ve been knowing about Trantasia and have seen it about three times. Don’t even get me started on Cassandra Cass and her overall incredible fabulousness.

This bitch is a meteor. Covered in sequins and falsies (lashes, girls. You know her yabos be rullll). The point is, the movie is incredible. Not only for its shear glamor and grace but for its touching stories of bravery and self expression.

A must Netflix.

I do some work and practice lyrics to “I Love Boys,” my sister Roxy’s new soon to be smash hit that I will be backing her on during her October 4th performance at the Highline Ballroom. Can’t get the “I l-o-v-e  b-o-y-s” bit out of my head.

Then, I get into a conversation with WooHoo this afternoon where the word “tomboy” is casually dropped. And of course, I get all curious and try and find its etymology online. Not the best luck but I did find out printed usage of the word goes back to the mid 16th century. He’s uninterested when I read him the etymolonline.com entry.

Thinking about boys and tomboys and transwomen, I realize I’ve missed the Redskins’ game and turn on the Dolphins/Chargers game. PS- what the fuck was up with them playing MGMT over the loud speakers in the stadium at the end of the 4th quarter? OK… But really, I only care about the Skins and twitter tells me they sucked the big one this afternoon. I’ve got the sads. Speaking of sad: The new Mike Ditka Coors Light commercial.

Especially the fat guy in the tiny t-shirt at the end. He makes me think of Chris Farley. Then, I have a quick lust to watch Tommy Boy (again with the Boys… damn).

But I pick up my tiny dog (Cassandra Cass’ tiny chichi at the end of Trantasia is almost as cute, but not quite) and promise her, my pup, that is, a viewing of her favorite TV show: the Logo network’s Noah’s Arc. A totally sweet and silly yet oddly comforting little dramedy about four gay black men living and loving in West Hollywood. Yeah. Netflix that one too. Clearly, I’m soooo Alex. Claro, gurrrrr.

So, yeah. Noah’s Arc is on the slate. Only after the game is over. Damn. I need a beer.

And maybe a vegan hot dog.

But don’t get it twisted, like a good little frat boy, I will be watching the premiere of Seth MacFarlane’s newest offering, The Cleveland Show at 8:30 on Fox. Damn straight. I can haz laughs at gender roles. Hah.

This weather is pretty much insanity. If insanity wears short shorts, mules, a vintage men’s vest and impeccable shades. Because even though it turned officially fall this week, the summer seems to be trying for one last go round. Which is fine by me and the rest of the Cottontails but what to do about it?

Well, thankfully, Harrah’s Atlantic City Answered our prayers! They aren’t done with summer yet either and this coming Tuesday the 29th they will prove it to us New Yorkers. From 11AM to 7PM the bikini street team from Harrah’s will be handing out room keys to 6,000 rooms at the beautiful Harrah’s to people walking around the South Street Seaport.

Annnd… they’re uping the ante at this event, aptly named Suits for Suites. If you have the huevos to put on a swimsuit they will automatically upgrade your free room to a suite!!! The rooms are redeemable between October 1st and December 23rd. But don’t worry, the potential inclement weather won’t stop you from enjoying a lovely poolside retreat because Harrah’s amazing pool is enclosed in a giant, climate controlled dome that is always a balmy 82 degrees and come nightfall it turns into the swank club After Dark.

Personally, I want to have my birthday there. But anyway, Suits for Suites is going to be a blast and a half, plus, the best part is Ms. Roxy Cottontail and the super sexy Playboy Playmate Tamara Sky will be DJing the event.

So come on down, bring your bathing suit, enjoy the music and pick up a room key!! See you by the pool, rabbitos!
