Pepsi’s DJ Collective last night at Roxy’s Playhouse was pure insanity!!!! Despite the disgusting weather as soon as doors opened people started to file in and within a few minutes completely forget the N’or Easter outside. Miss Cottontail warmed it up by playing everything from classic MJ tunes to club hits like Chelley’s “Took The Night”. DJ Drama was next up to bat bringing that good ol’ “Southern Comfort”. Maluca from Mad Decent stole the stage for a little and heated up the crowd even more. So after a little house, and a little dirty south, Diplo hit the scene with his unique blend of Electronic/Reggae/Pop. Shouts to “Pon De Floor” reggae dance star Skerrit Bwoy who was DEFINITELY in the house! Another big shouts to TONE for the wonderful images!! All in all just another crazy, wild, manic night in the city that NEVER sleeps (especially not on a Thursday)!

Sooo CMJ is fast approaching and here are the first few events leading up to the madness. Also, we’ve included a few that we cottontails will kick off the week with. First of all, tonight is the night you’ve been telling all your friends about. Diplo, Drama, Roxy and Eli Escobar DJ plus Maluca performs live at Roxy’s Playhouse in Brooklyn. Loook OUT! Then tomorrow night, we’re back at the Tribeca Grand for Grand Dynamite with Socialight Entertainment. This week DJ Sabrina and Anthony Batista will be bringing you tunes. Then at Sway on Monday we’re giving you a special CMJ edition of Electric Punnany with Jasmine Solano and Melo X plus an extra special guest, Chuck Inglish of the Cool Kids. Then on Tuesday the 20th, Ms. Cottontail is performing LIVE, with the support of one Ms. Pebbles van Peebles, at Moodswing 360’s showcase at Fat Baby. Also performing are Cold Flamez, Far East Movement, Tabi Bonney and Chris Young. Look out for more killer Cottontail events and performances later in the week. See you at the cluuuub!!!

What a guy. I first learned about Matt and about his awesome work when I was just a wee Cottontail working for Mr. Kareem Black. Matt is a pretty fuckin awesome dude and a great photographer. His site is just plain epic, showcasing all the incredible people he’s shot from Billy Idol to Lily Allen, from John Waters to Larry King. He’s shot ‘em all. And now, he’s just started a new very funny, very smart, very image-oriented blog called Nineteen 80 Snore at http://nineteen80snore.com/.
