Feelin’ that Pride

Friday, June 25th, 2010

So, everyone’s favorite glitter filled weekend is here!!! That’s right, PRIDE is upon us and of course the Cottontails have some amazing events lined up. First off, Roxy performs tonight at Quo with Lady Bunny, Keo Nozari and Janice Dickinson providing the tunes. Then Sunday, after the madness of the parade, take your little tuckered out cottonbum over to Hiro for Miss Honey Dijon’s birthday bash. Roxy will put on a show alongside some special guests so make sure you come prepared to be entertained. Then on Monday the Shameless crew takes over Sway for All Killer NO Filler with Nire and DJ Reason. Skotch Davis will perform and there’s another Don Julio open bar till midnight so come early and be prepared to get loose. And, a very special heads up for all you little bunnies, we have figured out how to match all the fun you will be having on the 4th of July- Roxy will be DJing at the Water Taxi Beach on Governor’s Island Monday July 5th with legends Benny Benassi, Congorock & Bart B More from 4 in the afternoon till 1AM! It’ll be Ibiza in New York on the real. Go to clubtickets.com to get your ticket. This will be one of the summer’s highlights to be sure. And head back to Sway with us afterward for July’s Rice and Peas. Big things, rabbittos. Big things indeed. Have an amazing Pride weekend and we’ll see you at the cluuuub!!

I Laughed, I Cried.

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010
I’m back for another treat for you bunnies, I’ll write for you all day as long as I stay out of this heat!!  So last night I whimsically decided to hop on over to Village East Cinema to check out the latest installment to Disney & Pixar’s Toy Story series, Toy Story 3.  Sitting amongst twenty other adults no younger than myself, I began to realize just how emotionally attached our generation is to these toddler toys.  While the movie is missing some of my favorite characters, for example Weezy, everyone’s favorite asthma-squeaky penguin, the main gang is all there.  Before I continue, I have to say that the Potato-Heads are the scene stealers for most of the movie, and if they were real people, they would definitely be from Long Island, am I right?

Anyway, Andy, the toys’ owner, is off to college for this film and is deciding where to send his toys, which is where they end up at Sunnyside Daycare, but the toys find no comfort or love with these terrifying toddlers who play with and destroy them during playtime.  Then the gang devises a complicated, artful plot to escape daycare and return to Andy.

-
I saw the movie in 3D, but I honestly wouldn’t suggest or deny someone from seeing it in this format.  I say this because it’s not as advanced as most 3D movies out today, which makes sense because they’ve been working on this film before 3D technology became so advanced.

-
The final 30 minutes of the movie was just a sob fest for me and everyone else around me, definitely one of the most heartwarming and heart-wrenching moments in Disney Pixar history.  Truly touching.

So go see Toy Story 3, whether in 3D or standard edition, it will thoroughly be an enjoyable experience.

Now This Is Some Refreshing Sunshine

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010
Goooood morning bunnies!  It is a SCORCHER today, so minimal clothing is excusable, although it is always allowed in my book, show the world what you got!  Anyway, the heat and sun are unbearable today, so I thought I’d unveil a refreshing dose of musical sunshine, sans the sweltering heat.  The song has been out for awhile, but Kylie Minogue’s debut single off her new CD Aphrodite is “All the Lovers,” and it’s that kind of light-hearted, feel-good brilliance that makes you just want to pop in the earphones and strut your stuff around the concrete jungle.  At least that’s how I spent my night last night… I live a crazy lifestyle what can I say.

The song is about what everyone could use more of: love!  Love for people, love for dance, love for love!  It’s light, airy, synthesized beat is pure bliss and begs you to hit the back track on your Pod for a re-listen again, again, and again!  The music video perfectly exemplifies what she’s going for, a love orgy!  No, not some disgusting, crab-infested orgy you dirty bunnies.  I’m talking a tasteful expression of love… with limbs everywhere.  For a good remix of the track, check out the Dada Life Remix.  I totally look forward to Aphrodite and writing all about it for my wittle rabbits.  Now grab a bottle of water, cool down, and pop in some Kylie.  Stay cool!
