Alexander McQueen’s “
Savage Beauty” was the biggest exhibit at the
Metropolitan Museum of Art this summer and as soon as I learned it would be there I knew I absolutely had to go!!! Alas August 7th rolled around the last day for the exhibit and my friend and I are were nearly in tears that we had missed it, coincidentally we happened to ride by the
Met and saw a line wrapped around the block on one side and almost down the street on the other so what did we do? Hopped off the bus and got in line! The planets had aligned and the universe was on our side! We found out that the museum had extended its hours for the last day staying open until 12am!
After waiting an hour and a half outside and almost 2 inside for the mere price of $4 (for both of us!) I experienced something that I can’t even put into words. The exhibit was magical/creepy/thought provoking/inspiring and more words that haven’t even been created. I was so glad that I waited on line because it was more than worth it. For anyone who didn’t get the chance to experience “
Savage Beauty” I’m truly sorry for you but I was able to sneak a few pics so check ‘em out…..
The line!!!!
