London & Oslo
This past weekend was some funner than fun. Traveling to DJ around the world and making new friends is something I pinch myself for every single time I land in another land. The last time I was in London and Norway to spin was about a year and a half ago, 2 summers ago. It felt like forever but as soon as I got there it felt like I never left. It’s so incredible to be international in the game with some of the most respected people in the business. I can’t even believe I do this and Asia is next!!!?? Whut? Craze! So here are some pics of my journey. Enjoy! Big shout to Peggy, Sharmadean, Magnus, Katie, Kat, Acyde, Crissy, Kish, Will, Kesh, Cargo, Livingroom and the motherfuggin sound system and nightclub that is Plastic People. Holy Mollys, me ears are still ringing.
I arrived at 9am on Thursday and Kat immediately set me up for a shoot with Mix Mag. Will Robson Scott an ILL photographer shot, while Crissy styled. The world’s biggest selling dance magazine! Whuttt!?!?
Acyde laced me up with some Nikes but I couldn’t choose. Which pairs?
Peace and Love to Acyde! Amazing DJ, Amazing style, Amazing fun. But dude, we forgot to play truth or dare this time!!!! Lulz….. Just remembered the last Gullyver. WTF!?
Saw Grace on the street outside of the Nike office!
I met up with my girl Kesh, we took the 149 bus to On The Rocks for Sinden’s Party!
Just so happened…my boy Emynd from Philly was spinning!
Emynd killed the set!
Kesh and I danced all night! I bounced for Norway at the but crack of dawn to play at Livingroom in Oslo. I dropped my bags at the cutest hotel ever and slept most of the day!
The Grand Hotel. The floor I was on was designed by women, for women. I loved it. Then it was off to dinner, then the club…
DJ Cake, an up-and-coming Norwegian DJ had a wicked opening set before me. I dared him to come to NYC.
He accepted!
Magnus, the booking agent and face of Cosmo & Livingroom in Norway. Who knew there were Columbian nightclub Vikings?
It was snowing and I tried ice skating in heels. NAGL. As soon as I woke up it was back to London to spin at Cargo!
Apparently I got the crowd “opened”.
Here’s Peggy in the puzzled door that is Cargo. She flew my Cottontail to the UK and even got me a 6 month work visa. Awwwwww! The absolute best right here!
Kish here and Katie, the Queen Bee (a Cottontail/BFF) was in town for biz! So amazing to share London with her. After Cargo we went to Plastic People for Acyde and MK’s party Gullyver!
MK was on fire!!!!!! Damn, he murdered it. I begged for a Plastic People proper lock in and spun for a short set. Mostly Sean Paul & Ryan Leslie. Mega fun!
Fatsarazzi, an ill photographer was up in it, definitely won the best dressed in London hands down. The bottle of rum was trouble!
Coco Black from the Agytators was in London too!!! It kinda felt like NY was repping hard!
Carrie Mundane who has the amazing clothing line Cassette Playa was in the house. She made all of MIA’s outfits in the beginning of her music career. Her fashion is SICK!
The next day was a lazy London Sunday most of which was spent drinking tea and eating. I missed my flight so we decided to go to Plastic People for a night of FRWD. One of the most bizarre sounding parties I’ve ever been too. I was in a zone where I felt like I was at a Rice & Peas rave under water. I can’t explain it but it was hype as hell.
I had my lighter up up up!!!!
The sweetest and smartest, Miss Sharmadean Reid. Sharma, so sweet to let me stay with you! THANK YOU GIRL!
Just so happened The Gaslamp Killer was in town. We sandwiched him good.
UK’s finest, Goldielocks!
Gaslamp & Kish
4s a charm!
Peace out London, Norway I miss you!!!! Can’t wait to Return next year!
xoxo
