Ok, kiddlets. It’s learning time and I’m gonna teach the hell out of you. Are you ready? Let’s begin.

Let’s start at the very beginning, a very good place to start. When you read you begin with a, b, c. When you bounce, you begin with si-sis-sy. BAM.

That’s right, this blog is for all of you poor little cottonbums who are yet to be blessed with the miracles of Sissy Bounce in your life. Well, the time has come for you to learn all about Big Freedia, the Queen Diva and her daughter Sissy Nobby, Katey Red and all the brightest stars of New Orleans’ booty bounce phenomenon, Sissy Bounce.

The much cuter, much cuntier trannie little sister of Bounce Music, Sissy Bounce is so named because it’s made by,  you guessed it, sissies!! All jokes aside though, it’s sticky and sweaty and incredible. Although NOLA Bounce has been popular in the Gulf Coast since the early 90s, Sissy Bounce, created, pushed and popularized by the gay and drag communities, made the music travel out of Louisiana and explode all over the map. Being written up in the Washington Post, The Fader and NPR, it is a full fledged phenomenon.

If DC’s Go Go and New York’s voguing balls had a crazy, ass-spazing love child, her name would be Sissy Bounce. And her aunt would be Showboy, the Drag Rap, specifically.

And, if you’re unfamiliar with Sissy Bounce’s dance style, then holy SHIT. Get ready. The wiggling, gyrating, rapid fire, circling ass shake and so called “spinning” that are characteristic of the music are truly mind boggling. I can only say watch these.

Yes.

Oh yeah.

Ass.

All the time.
