Material Girls

Some boys kiss me, some boys hug me I think they’re O.K. If they don’t give me proper credit I just walk away..

cause we are living in a material world

and

I am a material girl!

Yes yes yes, I’m taking it back to the 80’s for a moment because I am beyond exited for the Material Girls a.k.a Madonna and her daughter Lola to release there clothing line on August 3rd in Macy’s world wide. The clothing line is very young and hip, most of the inspiration comes from the 1980’s with high wasted shorts and a lot of leather!!

I’m obviously blogging about this line because I cant wait to own a few pieces from this collection myself. It includes at least on piece that someone would like to own, Lola her self said on her blog that “It’s cool because it’s not only rock chick, there are also some boho items, skater, and some great 80’s pieces as well.”

These are some of the designs that Madonnas creative team came up with for the new collection. You can tell It contains a little bit of everything; skinny jeans with lots of zippers, leather bags and jackets covered in studs, floral dresses with lots of bangles and cute accessories.

If you really think about it, It kind of resembles some of the things Madonna wore back in her day, very ” I don’t care what you think, I’m punk rock chic”.

Madonna gets behind the camera on the set at the Material Girl photo shoot with actress Taylor Momsen on May 4, 2010 in Brooklyn, NY. Taylor Momsen was recently revealed as the celebrity muse for the brand, chosen by Madonna and her daughter Lola, and will appear in the multi-media marketing campaign for the junior brand, Material Girl.

Madonna wanted to be very hands on with this brand because it means a lot to her and her daughter. Taylor Momsen fits

perfectly as the “muse” because this clothing line is the exact image of her daily day to day style.
