Ciao From Italia!

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

Wish you bunnies would be able to experience some of these most amazing and beautiful things I’ve seen while I’ve being on this trip. I started my trip off in Roma, as you all may have heard the expression “when in Rome” that’s exactly what I’ve been going by. The first night there I went into the beautiful Piazza and had dinner. Of course I tried the pizza, it was sooooooo good!!!! Italians cut there pizza in squares not in triangles like us Americano’s. As well, they barely put any tomato sauce on their pizza. Um um good!

Over the next few days in Roma I saw the beautiful Vatican City, Trevi Fountain (and yesss I made a wish),  different Piazzas, and the ginormous Coliseum….Oh Russell. After a few days in Roma I made my way to Florence, were the men are cute and shopping is good ;) The streets of Florence were very similar to New York minus the high rise building, but shopping stores and flocks of people was primarily the same. Got some cute new Bunnie attire!!! While in Florence I saw some beautiful churches, museums, Piazzas, and Tuscan country sides. I went on a beautiful tuscan dinner on a mountain over looking valleys that are probably something you would see drawn on a bottle of Pino Grigio! It was breath taking. Then I went wine tasting at the Chianti winery, it was definitely an amazing experience that left me drunk all afternoon… The drinking age is 16, that’s why you bunnies should definitely hop on over to Italia and try this amazing Vino and Lemonchello!!!!

I made a slight detour yesterday near the city of Luca to go see the Leaning Tower of Pizza, and let me tell you its leaning 17 feet over! I didn’t climb it I was too scared but it was an amazingly beautiful construction too look at. Today I’m off to Venice where I will experience only walking because most of the driving and traffic is done on water. Venice is a lagoon made up of 20 islands!! Its the most crazy and ridiculous thing ever, but oh so beautiful; and this is where the gondola ride was made famous ;) I miss the Cottontail familia back at home! Can’t wait too see all of you guys in a week!!!

Deception by Inception

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

Let me begin by just simply stating that Inception is freakin’ AMAZING! It just released this week, but I haven’t heard one negative comment yet. Now I understand why. I already offered to see the movie again with other friends… and coming from a student who lives dollar to dollar, it is that worth it. Of course chick flicks and comedies are great but this movie is my favorite kind. This film draws you into this hypnotic type state then has you leaving the theater with a “what in the world just happened?” or “is this real life?!” expression. You know you’ve just seen a great show when it blows your mind, and hours later you’re still feeling funky from the new perception you have on life.

Dom Cobb (Leo DiCaprio) is a skilled thief at the art of extraction. He is able to reach within the depths of one’s subconscious leaving all secrets revealed. Pursing his talent had cost him losing custody of his children because of a terrible accident. His desire to be a part of their lives once again leads him into a job offer he does not want to refuse. With the help of another experienced extractor, Arthur (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and Ariadne, (Ellen Page) plus a few other friends the plan to plant an idea in one man’s mind begins.

inception.jpg

To plant this single idea in Robert Fischer Jr.’s mind leaves them with no choice but to conduct a dream within a dream within a dream. Yes, three different levels of dream states. The situation becomes messy, and Cobb’s dead wife, Mal (Marion Cotillard) causes conflict within the entirety of the film. This is a movie you definitely want to be wide awake for. Inception is engaging and draws you in with the amazing special effects, a flawless script and great acting. I say deception in the title because at times you question what is real life, what is a dream, or find that there are some people who choose to swap the two. Strange, I know. But I think I do that on a daily basis.

I would love to tell so much more but I’m not trying to give away all the ooey-gooey-goodness.    (I really don’t like spoilers) This is a must-see! If anyone has anything negative to comment after seeing it, I’d really love to know because I personally believe I’m a harsh critique. It could make for good discussion.

From a dream within a dream, your introspective bunny - Brooke Cottontail
